We are delighted to announce our key foundation partners for TheStadiumBusiness ASIA 2023 in Hong Kong (19-20 October). Taking the lead is the most-anticipated sports and entertainment destinations in Asia – Kai Tak Sports Park – which is our key local event partner.

The founding event partnership further extends to two of the key partners behind this landmark development: ASM Global and Populous.

  • Kai Tak Sports Park (pictured below) is a fully-integrated sports, leisure and entertainment destination covering 28 hectare on the site of the former Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak. The Sports Park features a 50,000 seat Main Stadium with a retractable roof, an Indoor Sports Centre with the flexibility to host community sports and events of up to 10,000 seats, and a Public Sports Ground with a capacity of 5,000 seats. These venues will be complemented with extensive public open spaces for events and leisure together with retail and harbour front dining spaces.
  • ASM Global is the world’s leading venue management and services company, with a portfolio of more than 350 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, convention and exhibition centers, and performing arts venues. From Aberdeen to Anchorage, and Sydney to Stockholm, its venues connect people through the unique power of live experiences. Each day, the company’s 61,000 passionate employees around the world deliver locally tailored solutions and cutting-edge technologies to deliver maximum results for venue owners and amazing experiences for guests.
  • Populous is a global architecture and design firm which designs the places where people love to be together, like ICC Sydney, Philippine Arena, the London Olympics, and the Super Bowl. Regarded as sector’s architecture and design leader over the last 39 years, Populous has designed more than 3,000 projects worth US$40billion across emerging and established markets. Populous is the designer leading the Kai Tak Sports Park masterplan and as well as all venue designs including the Main Stadium, Indoor Sports Centre, Public Sports Ground and retail facilities. As part of Kai Tak Sports Park Limited, Populous is creating a precinct that resonates with the community and provides lasting and durable sports success for Hong Kong.

Key executives from all three organisations will be in attendance at TheStadiumBusiness ASIA (#SAS23) this October, with its experts joining key panels and breakout discussions. Furthermore, these partners will have access and visibility across the event lifecycle – through related marketing and the new, regional TheStadiumBusiness ASIA e-newsletter.

Kai Tak Sports Park will be a showcase for the very latest in fan experience, venue design and operations.

“Bringing people together is what everyone in the sports and entertainment sector does for a living. And as our sector restarts and reinvents itself after the losses, shutdowns and closures of the pandemic, sourcing best practice from the best in our business makes so much sense,” says Ian Nuttall, Founder, TheStadiumBusiness. “We are honoured to partner with not only the most exciting new venue in the region but to also have alongside the world’s leading venue operating group and the sector’s global leader in venue design and architecture.

He adds: “The key to our sector’s re-imagining is the sharing of ideas and inspiration to create safer, more creative and ever more engaging guest experiences. We are very happy to be sharing the lessons from these giants of the sector as we build TheStadiumBusiness ASIA into THE regional meeting for our sector.”

“Never has it been more important for the industry to come together to share ideas, innovate and redefine industry best practice,” stated John Sharkey, Project Director from Kai Tak Sports Park. “Kai Tak Sports Park will be a showcase for the very latest in fan experience, venue design and operations. We look forward to supporting this event to gather the region’s sports and entertainment leaders in Hong Kong as this mega-project moves from construction to operation.”

This initial agreement forms part of a strategic plan to develop the meeting over the years in Hong Kong, growing as each of the key elements of Kai Tak Sports Park open their doors.

Join us in Hong Kong on 19-20 October as we explore the future of design, operations and technology for Asia’s sports and entertainment venues – only at TheStadiumBusiness ASIA 2023 (#SAS23).
