Hundreds of venue leaders from across Asia gathered for the second edition of TheStadiumBusiness ASIA (#SAS24) conference in Hong Kong to explore the emerging trends reshaping our sector’s landscape—from the integration of cutting-edge technology to sustainable practices at the forefront of venue design and event operations.

Day 1 featured:

  • Opening Keynote: Ready for Lift-Off: An update on the progress of Kai Tak Sports Park, setting new standards for sports and entertainment developments in the region.
  • Opening Panel: Global Challenges, Local Perspectives: A thought-provoking panel sparked by an AI-generated list of challenges, ranging from health and safety to technological integration. Industry leaders weighed in on how their organisations are addressing these issues.
  • Session: Fan Engagement across APAC: Expert panelists explored how event promoters can reach and engage Asia’s diverse fanbase through culturally relevant content and tailored event experiences.
  • Session: A Roadmap for Venue Technology: With guest expectations rising, this session discussed the best strategies for investing in smart technology to enhance both operational efficiency and the fan experience.
  • Session: A New Era for Women’s Sport: As women’s sports grow in popularity across Asia, experts examined how venues must adapt to accommodate this shift, from gender-inclusive facilities to flexible event spaces.

Delegates also had the opportunity to join an exclusive tour of the nearly completed Kai Tak Sports Park. The tour, guided by the project’s architects and operators, provided invaluable insights into one of Asia’s most highly-anticipated venue developments.

Networking continued into the evening at the Roof Terrace, Dorsett Kai Tak Kowloon Hotel, offering stunning views across the Kai Tak Sports Park and Hong Kong’s skyline. Kai Tak Sports Park lit up the Hong Kong night sky as #SAS24 – TheStadiumBusiness ASIA was showcased on the stadium’s exterior.
